Refund policy

At Sciences Made Simple, we want you to feel confident in your purchase. Please read this Return & Refund Policy before placing an order.

Returns are available only for orders delivered within the United States.

You have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, unopened, undamaged, and in the same condition in which you received it. It must also be returned in its original packaging, with all original parts, labels, inserts, and proof of purchase.

To start a return, contact us at thesciencesmadesimple@gmail.com. Please include your order number, the item or items you wish to return, and the reason for your return.

If your return is approved, Science Made Simple will provide a prepaid return shipping label and instructions for returning your package. The cost of the return shipping label will be deducted from your refund.

Returns must be sent only after approval and according to the instructions we provide. Items returned without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

For approved returns, Science Made Simple will purchase and send a prepaid return shipping label. The actual cost of that label will be deducted from the refund amount.

A 5% restocking fee will also be deducted from each approved return refund.

Original shipping charges, expedited shipping charges, handling charges, customs charges, duties, and taxes are nonrefundable unless we determine that the item was defective, damaged upon arrival, or sent incorrectly.

The following items are final sale and cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged:

• Opened, used, assembled, altered, or damaged items

• Items with broken safety seals or tampered packaging

• Items missing original packaging, labels, components, instructions, or proof of purchase

• Laboratory kits, consumables, chemicals, reagents, specimens, slides, sterile products, safety-sensitive materials, or similar items that have been opened, used, tampered with, or are no longer in resalable condition

• Clearance items

• Discounted items

• Sale items

• Promotional items

• Bundles

• Gift cards

• Custom, personalized, made-to-order, or special-order items

• Perishable goods

• Personal-care goods

• Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, gases, or any item that cannot be safely returned

All orders shipped outside the United States are final sale.

Science Made Simple does not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for international orders, except where required by applicable law. Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are not refundable.

Please inspect your order as soon as you receive it.

If your item is damaged, defective, missing, or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible at thesciencesmadesimple@gmail.com so we can review the issue and make it right.

For damage, defect, or incorrect-item claims, customers must provide clear photos of:

• The damaged, defective, or incorrect item

• The original packaging

• The shipping box or mailer, if damaged

• The shipping label, if applicable

We will review the information and determine the appropriate resolution. If we confirm that an item was defective, damaged upon arrival, or sent incorrectly, we may provide a replacement, refund, or another appropriate resolution. If a return is required for an approved claim, we will provide return-shipping instructions.

Science Made Simple does not offer direct exchanges.

If you would like a different item, you may return an eligible unopened and unused item in accordance with this policy. Once the return is approved, you may place a separate order for the item you prefer.

After we receive and inspect an approved return, we will notify you by email whether your refund has been approved or denied.

If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method. The amount refunded will be the eligible returned merchandise amount, less:

• The $10.00 restocking fee

• The actual cost of the prepaid return shipping label

• Any nonrefundable original shipping, expedited shipping, handling, customs, duty, tax, or other applicable charges

Please allow up to 10 business days after approval for us to process your refund. Your bank, credit-card company, or payment provider may require additional time to process and post the refund.
